Justin der Märtyrer (um 100–165) war ein frühchristlicher Philosoph und Apologet, der in Rom eine Schule gründete und dort unter Marcus Aurelius hingerichtet wurde. Er verstand das Christentum als vollendete Philosophie, formulierte die Lehre vom bereits vorchristlich wirkenden göttlichen Logos und überlieferte die älteste detaillierte Schilderung der frühchristlichen Gottesdienstpraxis. Heutigen Bibellesern erschließt er die Denk- und Lebenswelt der frühen Kirche, wobei seine im «Dialog mit dem Juden Tryphon» vertretene Enterbungstheologie in der Forschung als problematischer Baustein des christlichen Antijudaismus kritisiert wird.
