Albert the Great
Der deutsche Dominikaner, Theologe und Philosoph Albertus Magnus lehrte im 13. Jahrhundert vor allem in Paris und Köln und wirkte zeitweise als Bischof von Regensburg. Er erschloss das philosophische Werk des Aristoteles sowie arabische Gelehrsamkeit für das christliche Denken und verband theologische Reflexion mit eigener empirischer Naturbeobachtung. Für Bibelleser steht er bis heute für den methodisch reflektierten Dialog zwischen Naturwissenschaft und Glauben sowie die Hochschätzung der menschlichen Vernunft bei der Erkundung der Schöpfung.
