Ludwig Feuerbach war ein deutscher Philosoph und einflussreicher Religionskritiker des 19. Jahrhunderts, der vor allem in Erlangen und auf Schloss Bruckberg wirkte. Bekannt wurde er durch sein Werk „Das Wesen des Christentums“ und die Projektionstheorie, wonach Gott lediglich eine Veräußerlichung menschlicher Wesenszüge und Wünsche sei. Für Bibelleser bildet seine Argumentation bis heute eine theologische Herausforderung und Mahnung, Gott nicht auf ein selbstgemachtes Wunschbild zu reduzieren.
