Jochen Klepper (1903–1942) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller, Journalist und lutherischer Liederdichter, der vor allem in Breslau und Berlin wirkte. Bekannt wurde er durch Kirchenlieder wie „Die Nacht ist vorgedrungen“ sowie durch seine Tagebücher aus der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus, ehe er 1942 angesichts der drohenden Deportation seiner jüdischen Familie mit ihr den Freitod wählte. Bibellesern bezeugen seine Gesangbuchverse bis heute ein von lutherischer Kreuzestheologie geprägtes Festhalten an Gottes Treue in existenzieller Bedrängnis.
