Clemens Brentano (1778–1842) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller und Lyriker der Romantik, der unter anderem in Heidelberg, Berlin und Dülmen wirkte. Bekannt wurde er als Mitherausgeber von „Des Knaben Wunderhorn“ und durch seine spätere Hinwendung zum Katholizismus, während seine antisemitischen Äußerungen sowie seine eigenmächtig ausgeschmückten Visionsberichte über Anna Katharina Emmerick Gegenstand anhaltender Kritik sind.
