Hannah More (1745–1833) war eine englische Schriftstellerin und Bildungsreformerin, die der evangelikalen Erweckungsbewegung innerhalb der Kirche von England angehörte. Im Verbund mit der Clapham-Sekte trat sie publizistisch gegen den transatlantischen Sklavenhandel ein und gründete Sonntagsschulen für arme Kinder, beschränkte deren Unterricht aus sozialkonservativer Haltung jedoch auf das Bibellesen. Für Bibelleser heute steht ihr Werk für eine praktisch gelebte Verbindung von Schriftfrömmigkeit, weiblicher Autorschaft und gesellschaftlicher Einflussnahme.
