Philipp Matthäus Hahn (1739–1790) war ein evangelisch-lutherischer Pfarrer, Astronom und Erfinder im Herzogtum Württemberg. Als pietistischer „Mechanikerpfarrer“ veranschaulichte er die göttliche Schöpfungsordnung durch den Bau hochpräziser astronomischer Uhren sowie Rechenmaschinen, stieß mit seinen theosophischen Schriften jedoch auf den Widerspruch der lutherischen Orthodoxie. Für heutige Bibelleser steht er beispielhaft für das Zusammendenken von Schriftfrömmigkeit und wissenschaftlich-technischem Fortschritt.
