Der schwedische Diplomat und Ökonom Dag Hammarskjöld (1905–1961) wirkte von 1953 bis zu seinem Tod bei einem Flugzeugabsturz als zweiter Generalsekretär der Vereinten Nationen in New York und internationalen Krisengebieten.
