Josemaría Escrivá (1902–1975) war ein spanischer katholischer Priester, der vor allem in Madrid sowie Rom wirkte und 1928 das Opus Dei gründete. Er betonte die Heiligung des Alltags und der weltlichen Berufsarbeit – bekannt durch sein Werk „Der Weg“ –, während sein Schaffen wegen autoritärer Strukturen und historischer Nähe zum Franco-Regime umstritten blieb.
