Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Alexander Solschenizyn (1918–2008) war ein russischer Schriftsteller, Nobelpreisträger und sowjetischer Dissident, der nach Zwangsarbeitslager und westlichem Exil in den 1990er-Jahren nach Russland zurückkehrte. Geprägt von seiner Hinwendung zum russisch-orthodoxen Glauben während der Lagerhaft, deckte er mit Werken wie „Der Archipel Gulag“ den totalitären Terror auf und mahnte zu persönlicher Wahrhaftigkeit. Für Bibelleser veranschaulicht sein Werk das Festhalten am Gewissen und die Einsicht, dass die Grenze zwischen Gut und Böse durch jedes menschliche Herz verläuft, wenngleich sein späterer Nationalismus und sein historisches Spätwerk auf Widerspruch stießen.
