James Benson Irwin (1930–1991) war ein US-amerikanischer NASA-Astronaut, der 1971 als achter Mensch den Mond betrat und anschließend von Colorado Springs aus als evangelikaler Prediger und Missionsleiter wirkte. Er wurde durch sein weltweites Zeugnis über eine Glaubenserfahrung auf dem Mond sowie Expeditionen zur Suche nach der biblischen Arche Noah bekannt, stand 1972 jedoch auch wegen des sogenannten Apollo-15-Briefmarkenskandals in der Kritik.
