Friedrich Schleiermacher (1768–1834) war ein deutscher evangelischer Theologe und Philosoph, der vor allem als Prediger und Universitätsprofessor in Berlin wirkte. Er gilt als Begründer der modernen Hermeneutik sowie Theologie und bestimmte Frömmigkeit als Gefühl schlechthinniger Abhängigkeit von Gott, sah sich jedoch zeitgenössisch wie auch später durch Karl Barth dem Vorwurf des theologischen Subjektivismus ausgesetzt.
