Pater Pio von Pietrelcina (1887–1968) war ein italienischer Kapuzinerpater, der die meiste Zeit seines Lebens im Kloster von San Giovanni Rotondo in Süditalien wirkte. Bekannt wurde er durch die ihm zugeschriebenen Wundmale Christi, seine intensive Beichtseelsorge und das von ihm initiierte Großkrankenhaus, während innerkirchliche Kritiker und vatikanische Prüfungen die Echtheit seiner Stigmata wiederholt anzweifelten.
