Christian Morgenstern (1871–1914) war ein deutscher Dichter, Schriftsteller und Übersetzer, der unter anderem in Berlin und München wirkte. Bekanntheit erlangte er vor allem durch seine humoristischen „Galgenlieder“ und hintergründigen Sprachspiele, verfasste daneben aber auch mystisch-kontemplative Gedankenlyrik.
