Sophie Scholl (1921–1943) war eine deutsche Studentin der Biologie und Philosophie sowie christlich geprägte Widerstandskämpferin in Ulm und München. Nach anfänglichem Engagement im Bund Deutscher Mädel vollzog sie eine grundlegende Abkehr vom Nationalsozialismus und rief mit der studentischen Gruppe „Weiße Rose“ in Flugblättern zum Sturz des NS-Regimes auf, wofür sie 1943 hingerichtet wurde. Für Bibelleser verdeutlichen ihre Briefe und Tagebücher, wie ein durch Gebet und Schriftlektüre geschärftes Gewissen zur Zivilcourage gegen staatliches Unrecht verpflichtet.
