Der kanadisch-US-amerikanische Evangelist John G. Lake (1870–1935) war eine prägende Gestalt der frühen weltweiten Pfingstbewegung und wirkte vor allem in Südafrika sowie im Nordwesten der USA. Er begründete sogenannte „Healing Rooms“ und vertrat die Lehre, dass jedem Gläubigen durch den Heiligen Geist übernatürliche Heilung und Gesundheit zustehe. Während seine Texte bis heute Teile der charismatischen Bewegung inspirieren, verweisen historische Forschungen auf erhebliche Übertreibungen in seinen Berichten sowie auf juristische Verfahren wegen Finanzdelikten.
