Jan Hus

Jan Hus (1369–1415) war ein böhmischer Theologe, Priester und Universitätsprofessor, der zu Beginn des 15. Jahrhunderts in Prag als bedeutender Vorreformator wirkte. Er stellte die Heilige Schrift als oberste Richtschnur über kirchliche Autoritäten, kritisierte Missstände wie den Ablasshandel und wurde 1415 auf dem Konzil von Konstanz hingerichtet, nachdem er den Widerruf seiner Lehren verweigert hatte.
