Adam Clarke war ein britischer methodistischer Theologe, Prediger und Sprachgelehrter an der Wende vom 18. zum 19. Jahrhundert. Bekannt wurde er durch seinen monumentalen Bibelkommentar, der wesleyanisch-arminianische Theologie mit umfassenden orientalischen Sprachstudien verband, jedoch wegen seiner Ablehnung der ewigen Sohnschaft Christi kircheninternen Widerspruch hervorrief.
