Nikolaus Ludwig Graf von Zinzendorf (1700–1760) war ein deutscher Theologe, Dichter und Bischof, der im 18. Jahrhundert von Herrnhut in der Oberlausitz aus die erneuerte Brüder-Unität aufbaute. Er prägte eine radikal christozentrische Frömmigkeit und frühe weltweite Missionsarbeit, stieß jedoch mit der extremen Bildsprache der sogenannten „Sichtungszeit“ und hohen Schulden auf scharfe theologische Kritik. Heutigen Bibellesern ist er vor allem als Initiator der bis heute täglich genutzten Herrnhuter Losungen und als Liederdichter bekannt.
